Love and death are very similar for they are both the most solemn and humble incidents in life, yet the most uncontrollable and sudden major events for all of us. …Everything is a game played in a trance. An illusion of murder gradually led to a murder in reality. They were men of feeble personality but held onto something they had no control of, and finally met their end. The ones they loved, they were indebted to, had all become accomplices in helping them murder themselves. Everyone was a murderer that twisted feelings in the name of love. In such name, it seemed that there was nothing that could not be traded and sold.

A real estate tycoon Mr. Wong has mysteriously disappeared, but his Rolls-Royce has been found hidden in a heap of rubbish in a refuse treatment plant, with lots of bloodstain, some scattered burnt paper, some cat hair and 360RMB. Later on, parts of his body are discovered in ATM machines. It is tentatively confirmed by the police to be a vicious murder. His wife offers a reward for any significant information concerning the death of her husband. The reward – a hanging garden -sparks excitement across the city but secretly causes another murder.

The Murder of Hanging Garden features suspense, satire and black humor. The actors’ interactive performance with a rock band lets the audience indulge in reveries about Chinese original musical. The power of music changes the dynamic and rational dialogue into expressive and sentimental lyrics. Seized by the warm atmosphere, audiences cannot help but dance to the rhythmic music.
